Moscow is waiting word from the scientific expedition sent to find th=
e latest enormous meteorite, or "shooting star," which fell in Kamchatka,=
the bleak peninsula in the east of Siberia. This is the third great met=
eorite to fall in Siberia in this century. Last year, one of the biggest=
ever known fell in a remote mountainous wilderness north of Vladivostok.=
Peasants saw a huge fireball hurtling through the air on a sunny mornin=
g, its red tail leaving a broad smoke trail. Before it reached the groun=
d the cosmic missile exploded with a roar heard 50 miles away.
