[meteorite-list] Let DeRusse alone

Martin,
You are such a kind man!
He wrote me threatening emails, claiming I was part of a
worldwide conspiracy along with several prominent scientists
and other highly reputable meteorite dealers because no one
wanted to buy his meteorites....
My reaction was far less "Christian" than yours. I just felt like
poking him with a sharp stick for threatening me out of the blue.
It took two or three interactions before I refused all response and
even then, this guy writes me every 6 months or so saying he will
see me in court. I have been tempted to yank his chain, but at least
have not done so since the initial contact.
I do agree, it is far better to leave hostile mentally ill people
alone. Would you torment an obviously mad homeless person? Of
course not. But when attacked via email (or, in the case of DeRusse,
when a respected curator was attacked) we tend to be far less
merciful - especially if the individual is somewhat articulate, as we tend
to confuse intelligence with sanity, and, therefore, responsibility.
        You're a better man than I am.
        Michael
