I try (emphasis on try) to follow Hawking and interestingly, the main reason he fears aliens is because he says they would be far more advanced then we are.
This because they got here. If they are advanced enough to travel such great distances (at least 100's of light years) they are probably smarter and way more advanced than we are.
Thank you for the link.

Stepehen Hawkins makes a cryptic comment in this release touting his soon to debut telly program (May 9th - Discovery Channel)surmising that aliens we might encounter will be in microbial form. He also opines we should avoid contact with alien life forms. > > How prophetic considering the microbacterial and fossil remains found in Alan Hills 84001, Y000953 and most remarkably in "Nakhla". > > > http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/science/space/article7107207.ece?print=yes&randnum=1272220971558 > > Count Deiro > IMCA 3536 > > > ______________________________________________ > Visit the Archives at http://www.meteoritecentral.com/mailing-list-archives.html > Meteorite-list mailing list > Meteorite-list at meteoritecentral.com > http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-listReceived on Sun 25 Apr 2010 04:45:26 PM PDT
