My first meteorite was a Mundrabilla.

I bought it in a mineral shop in Amsterdam in 1991, when still a student and
visiting Amsterdam.
Couldn't believe it was possible to buy something like that. It was still
uncut/unetched an looked like an ugly rusted piece of iron.

I bought it under the condition that it could be returned, when found not to
be a meteorite. The curator of the mineral collection at the Geology
Department of my University in Delft, was so kind to do some testing, and
could confirm it to be a meteorite.
After reading a lot of books from the library, and finishing my first
etching experiment (nearly blowing up the kitchen, but that's an other
story.....), I could see for myself he was right.

Hi List:

Gives me an idea for a new thread:

What was you first meteorite? When did you acquire it?
