I don't know what method you will be using, but you can count on it not
being dredging. Still illegal in california for at least a couple or three
more years. Panning is fun, but in most spots where its fairly easy to
dig...such as in gravel bars, it will most likely be a waste of time...unless you
are able to dig several feet below the gravel to bedrock or clay. Then
there's good potential. A dry washer might be worthwhile if you dig in an area
that is dry. I still got my dry wash, but its a lot of hard work to use
it. Not as fun as dredging.
