Erich Heiderer
I know a number of members on this list - some I have met personally and
some I only know from our telephone conversations and computer
correspondences.
I have no desire to see this become a forum for personal attacks,
criticisms, etc. This is the first time I have ever made a post of any
kind and, quite frankly, I hope it is the last. I do not like to air
dirty laundry in public, but the door has been opened and the complete
story needs to be told.
There is an unresolved issue involving my husband Michael and Erich
Heiderer. This issue involves non-payment for material that was
represented to Michael to be carbonaceous material and turned out, after
a complete analysis by Arizona State University, to be a) some
carbonaceous material b) some common chondrite material and c) some
non-meteorite material.
In Tucson, instead of going and sitting down with Michael to work out
this problem, Erich chose to send his wife Sylvia to my booth on
numerous occasions to badger me for money. I had never met either Erich
or Sylvia Heiderer before in my life. She was repeatedly told by me
that Erich would have to talk to Michael to straighten out the problem
and I could not help them. She became so hostile and threatening that
finally show security had to be summoned to escort her back to her booth
and tell her she was not to approach me again. Show management told
both parties that any problems were to be resolved outside the show.
Unfortunately Erich did not believe that these directives applied to him
and he chose to disregard them by cornering me outside my booth. I
don*t need to go into what he said and implied, but it left me shaken
enough that I contemplated not going back into my space for the rest of
the show. However, I had done nothing wrong and refused to let their
intimidating tactics scare me out of my area of the show. I
contemplated calling the police but decided against it in hopes of a
peaceful resolution.
However, the next day, Erich sent some guy to our hotel room to continue
the threats and harrassment. After this guy followed Michael into the
parking lot issuing threats, I called the Tucson police and make a
report against Erich Heiderer for harrassment and threating and
intimidating behavior (Tucson police report, case #9802140535).
The part that I don*t get is that Michael went to Erich at the Denver
Show last September and invited him to his room so they could settle
what needed to be done and go on about their business. Erich never
showed up. Michael also approached Erich, shook hands with him around
the first of this Tucson Show, invited him to come sit down and settle
the issue and Erich replied that he couldn*t - it was his birthday. And
then he started his campaign of threats and harrassment using his wife
and some other guy.
It is my hope that Erich can pick up the phone, call 607-257-5349, speak
with Michael and that the two of them can resolve what needs to be taken
care of and the rest of us can go on about our business. The last thing
that I would like to see happen is for this chidish and yet very scary
behavior of Erich*s to continue and to have things wind up in civil or,
even worse, criminal court. There is no reason for any of it.
