Dear Polo:

Just joking about the emails. No offence meant. I always enjoy seeing a
resourceful entrepreneur outsmart the government, so I hope you get your
meteorites to market -- as the children's rhyme says. Or something like
that. My friends tell me you're a nice guy, and I look forward to meeting
you at one of our stellar rock shows (Tuscon?). I'd certainly enjoy looking
through a few hundred kilos of Campos, so I hope you'll be able to bring
them along next time.

I did find the idea of the Argentinian police, or whatever, coming up to
the U.S. and trying to confiscate previously-bought Campos to be most
humorous (actually, ludicrous would be a better word) and couldn't resist
taking a poke at it. I think they'd be taking on more than they could
handle, especially if they tried hustling a couple of heavily-armed
meteorite collectors that I know. I doubt many of us took that threat
seriously, but I also don't doubt that some members of the government would
like to stop meteorites coming out of the country. I just don't think that
they'd be using a free Yahoo email account to post threats to our group
about it. Not really the way that most governments work.

I also agree with our very own Meteordealer@aol.com: If the Argentinian
gov't is so worried about a few more tons of old Campos coming out of the
country, they'd be much better served by sending a gang of scientists (or
convicts) down there to collect some of the irons instead of letting them
rot. I've been told by a very reputable source (i.e. famous meteorite
hunter) that there are so many tons of Campos out there, you can't even
begin to pick up all the pieces.

If they give you any more trouble, we'll send the "Organization Formely
Known as I.M.A." to come down and bust you out of jail. Anyway, I wish you
good luck with your Campo project, and I hope you found your passport.

: )

Regards,

Geoff N.
