Re: Open Letter

  Hi folks,
O.K. Michael, I'll bite. I think maybe a warning e-mail to the possible
"offending" members might be a better start, giving them a chance if you
will. If problems continue then a small boot from the list may be in order,
let's say 15 days. A second offense a month. A third 2 months but it may do
more harm than good. Maybe the "offending" party(s) don't care if they get
re-subscribed or not. Who knows? Maybe we lose valuable input from these
people, not a good thing right?

Bickering (as opposed to debateing) between 2 (or more) people should be
done by PRIVATE e-mail, not the list. Weather it's a disagreement over laws
or business, etc., these are personally battles which have no place on the
list.
"Petty bickering, nitpicking and/or name calling" should be done privately.

Personally, I don't mind occasional advertisements, as long as it's not a
catalog of stuff, maybe the "Just in!" type is more relevant. An ad like, "I
just got in some blah blah and some yada yada" (Bernt, find THEM in your
database!) would be O.K. by me. Dealers can privately e-mail out their
offerings (*I* welcome them) or offer list members deals.

Threads that I tire of I just delete without reading, just read the
subject line and you know which ones you're sick of. This is not an attack
on anyone by the way, but let's face it, some threads can get old REAL
quick, especially the fighting types. I value everyone on the list, I'd hate
to see people tossed over silly stuff. I have noticed that several people
haven't been posting in the past day or so, I'd like to see them back so
long as the fighting stops. This is a GREAT list.....as long as the B.S. is
kept in check!

Regards,
Tom Randall
