Re: Campo del Cielo Meteorites - Official Argentine GovernmentNotice

Dear Michael and List;
About a year ago I went the extra mile doing my preliminary research in event that
I or someone else locally would find a public land meteorite or strewn field. I
was encouraged to " file a claim or collect all that I wanted" by the local and
state levels of public lands administrators (Bureau of Land Management, Dept. of
the Interior). I have in my studies found that the vast majority of the twelve
meteorites found in the state of Wyoming have came from the eastern side of the
state and of private lands. I believe that the government has already set the bait
and are waiting for an innocent John Doe meteorite novice to bring forth the
location of new meteorite finds. Citing the "Old Woman" from California case, I
suspect that the federal government is being patient, the laws are already in
effect set, and ready to "spring". My one attempt to contact Dr. Timothy McCoy at
the Smithsonian to verify the "scientific value" and of his pre find playing field
rules went unanswered. I have been suspect every since, and am glad that my
meteorite collection remains very small besides other than financial reasons.
If one of us found a five pound moon rock, it would probably be removed before it
could be sold. The Government monitors our electronic communication on such
subjects according to a media investigative report recently. And soilent green
hasn't been officially put on the grocery store shelves yet.
One Small Mouse,
David Freeman
